Marcy Trentacosti is a full-time section violinist in the Fort Wayne Philharmonic since 1976. She graduated from Indiana University in 1981 with a Bachelor of Music Education and in August 2008 received her MM in violin performance from Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio. Ms. Trentacosti participated in the Rome Festival Orchestra in Rome, Italy; Chicago Civic Orchestra; Bach, Beethoven, Breckenridge Music Festival and was concertmaster of the Marion Philharmonic. She taught orchestra at Snider High School, Woodside Middle School, Canterbury School and Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. She is a violin instructor for  Purdue University Fort Wayne Community Arts Academy in addition, a Purdue University Fort Wayne violin Instructor where she performed annually in a Piano Trio. In addition, founder and director of PFW – CAA Summer String Camp for 26 years. She has been a member of ASTA (American String Teachers Association), serves as Co-Chair of ASTACAP in northern Indiana, Nafma, and Sigma Alpha Iota as the Collegiate Advisor for the Zeta Psi Chapter and held offices for the Fort Wayne Alumna Chapter as President, Recording Secretary and presently VP Ritual. In January 2020, she was a presenter at IMEA conference in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She served as a past  guest conductor for the ASTA All-Regional Orchestra and for 8 years the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Youth Concert Orchestra. In 2020 she began working in FWCS teaching for the "b" Instrumental Program working with the string programs in the middle and high schools. In addition to her full time job as a violinist with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, she has a successful private teaching studio and an ensemble class at the University of Saint Francis as the director of City String Academy.
